BioPro ENT
BioPro ENT provides a combination of clinically-studied probiotic strains shown to support the health of the teeth, gums, ears, and sinuses. Featuring BLIS K12TM(Streptococcus salivarius K12), this mint-flavored chewable formula is ideal for promoting a healthy mouth and upper respiratory system.
Function
Why BioPro ENT?
For patients struggling with ongoing discomfort associated with dental pain, bad breath, blocked sinuses or tonsil/ear discomfort, daily probiotics may help relieve these symptoms by promoting a healthy microbial environment within the upper respiratory tract. Probiotic strains such as L. Reuteri, L. Paracasei, and BLIS K12™ have been shown to significantly support the body in managing dental caries (cavities), ear pain, throat discomfort, and tonsil issues by inhibiting the growth of some of the most common bacterial species related to the conditions among children and adults.1
BLIS K12TM: A Probiotic Superhero
BLIS K12™, a unique probiotic that has been shown to specifically benefit the mouth, throat, and upper respiratory system. Poor diet and lifestyle choices can throw the delicate microbiome of this system out of balance leading to overgrowth of bad or non-beneficial bacteria. Most probiotics can help by competing with the bad bacteria for adhesion sites and nutrients, but BLIS K12™ takes this a step further. BLIS K12™ releases antimicrobial peptides known as bacteriocin-like inhibitory substances that actually target and kill invading bacteria. These pathogen-fighting substances have been shown to be especially beneficial against the oral pathogen Streptococcus pneumoniaee.1
Support for Upper Respiratory Immunity
An unbalanced upper respiratory microbiome can lead to increased risk of upper respiratory infections from pathogens such as Streptococcus pyogenes and cause the immune system to be compromised in its natural defense systems. Research has shown that probiotics may be helpful in preventing and reducing the duration of certain immune-related conditions.2
Tonsils
Sulfur-producing bacteria and debris can accumulate and become lodged in the back of the throat. BioPro ENT contains beneficial bacteria native to the throat and pharynx to help the body’s immune system to create a barrier against these invading germs. Strains such as BLIS K12™, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, L. reuteri, L. acidophilus, L. paracasei and L. plantarum help combat these bacteria and debris by directly attacking the afflicted area. A study published in Journal of Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy showed that people who took probiotic strains Streptococcus salivarius K12 experienced an 80% decrease in streptococcal pharyngeal infections (strep throat and tonsillitis).1
Ear Infections
The buildup of bacteria that travel from the throat into the middle ear via the Eustachian tube can cause ear infections. A study investigating throat infections and ear infections among children published in the International Journal of General Medicine found that 41/45 children had a 90% reduction in throat infection and 40% reduction in ear infection in a 90-day treatment period and six-month follow-up with probiotic strain BLIS K12™.1
Teeth and Gums
The warm, moist environment of the human mouth is a highly hospitable environment for pathogenic bacteria and microorganisms. With poor oral health and hygiene, this can lead to dental issues including cavities, tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath. Clinical studies of patients undergoing therapy with the bacteria strains in BioPro ENT have shown reductions in cavities, gingivitis, and oral plaque levels, increased resistance to infections from pathogens such as Streptococcus pyogenes, and reduction in bleeding gums, thrush, and bad breath.3 Probiotic products with BLIS K12™ do not treat bad breath in the traditional way by masking the smell with other products, but instead gradually replace odor-causing bacteria with a specific species of Streptococcus salivarius. A study showed an 85% reduction of VSC levels, important markers of halitosis, when S. salivarius K12 was consumed for a week by human subjects. BLIS K12™ inhibits the growth of other microbes in the mouth and helps reduce bad breath.4
BioPro ENT Support for Children
BioPro ENT has beneficial probiotic strains that promote flora balance in the mouth cavity while also allowing good bacteria to thrive. Studies have shown that children with naturally higher levels of BLIS K12™ are better able to maintain mouth and throat health.2 BioPro ENT comes in easy-to-take chewable tablets with strains of the beneficial bacterial and is safe for children.
Refreshing Mint Taste
Mint can be used alongside homeopathic remedies without any risk of interaction. There have never been any scientific studies indicating an adverse interaction between mint and homeopathy. The American Association of Homeopathic pharmacists has recently stated that there is no need to avoid mint during any type of homeopathic protocol.5
BioPro ENT probiotics:
L Reuteri has been shown in recent studies to inhibit the growth of Streptococcus bacteria. In addition, subjects in clinical oral health trials supplemented with L. reuteri showed a significant reduction in gingivitis levels and plaque levels after 14 days of treatment.6
L Paracasei specifically targets Streptococcus mutans, a pathogen closely linked to dental caries. L. paracasei has also been shown to have immune-supporting activity when incorporated into intestinal targeted probiotic formulas.7
L Rhamnosus is one of the most well-studied probiotics. Intestinal implantation of L. rhamnosus has been shown to be beneficial in reducing symptoms associated with food allergies, poor gastrointestinal motility, and inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases. In clinical trials, children who drank milk supplemented with L. rhamnosus showed reductions in cavities indicating that L. rhamnosus may additionally support improvements in oral health.8
L Acidophilus has been the focus of multiple studies surrounding intestinal probiotic therapy. Research on L. acidophilus supports its use as a probiotic in supporting immune defenses, intestinal health, and possibly supporting healthy blood lipid levels.9
L Salivarius is a probiotic bacteria strain found naturally in a healthy human intestinal tract. This lactic acid bacterium has immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and anti-infectious properties.10
L Plantarum has been shown to help with digestive health and improves symptoms such as bloating, gas, cramping, diarrhea and constipation. The microorganism strain has inflammatory properties which help with auto-immunity and helps support the body against colds and flus.11
